Seven Seas Prestige Inaugural Season: Which 2027 Itinerary Is Best?

Compare the Caribbean, Panama Canal, transatlantic and European voyages—and find the itinerary that fits the way you want to travel.

By Melissa Lagerquist · October 3, 2026 · 14 min read

Seven Seas Prestige is not arriving with one ceremonial maiden voyage and then settling into a repetitive schedule. Regent’s inaugural-season brochure lays out a progression from Barcelona to Miami, through the Caribbean and Panama Canal, across the Atlantic, and into Western Europe. The published program runs from December 13, 2026, through late May 2027, with voyages ranging from 10 to 15 nights. Regent’s official inaugural-season brochure is the source for the dates and routes below.

That variety is good news, but it makes the booking decision less obvious. The “best” Seven Seas Prestige itinerary depends on whether you care most about warm-weather port days, an easy roundtrip, time to enjoy a new ship, or a European itinerary with more destination intensity.

The quick answer

Quick answer

For the simplest first experience, choose a roundtrip Miami Caribbean itinerary. For the most time to enjoy the ship, consider the December 13 Barcelona-to-Miami crossing or the April 27 New York-to-Barcelona crossing. For the strongest mix of ship and destination, the May 11 Barcelona-to-London itinerary is the standout. Travelers who want the Panama Canal should focus on the January 20 Miami-to-Los Angeles voyage or the February 22 Panama City-to-Miami sailing.

The suite matters almost as much as the route on a new ship. Seven Seas Prestige carries 822 guests in 411 suites, according to Regent’s official ship brochure, and the best-located suites in a preferred category can disappear long before the ship sails.

Best for an easy inaugural-season experience: roundtrip Miami

The December 28, January 10 and March 5 departures begin and end in Miami. They remove the open-jaw flight problem, and they allow U.S. travelers to concentrate on the ship rather than complicated embarkation logistics.

The itineraries are not interchangeable. December 28 leans west toward Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Jamaica and Grand Cayman. January 10 favors the Eastern Caribbean, including St. Maarten, Guadeloupe, Antigua, St. Kitts and the British Virgin Islands. March 5 combines Western Caribbean ports with a Panama Canal transit before returning to Miami. Regent publishes the detailed routes and estimated excursion counts in its inaugural-voyage brochure.

Choose roundtrip Miami if you want the lowest-friction way to try Prestige. Do not choose it automatically if the itinerary is secondary; a crossing may offer more time to explore the ship’s new restaurants and public spaces.

Best for seeing the Panama Canal: Miami to Los Angeles

The 15-night January 20 sailing is the most complete coast-to-coast itinerary in the first season. Regent lists Grand Cayman, Cartagena, a Panama Canal transit, Puntarenas, Puerto Quetzal and Cabo San Lucas before arrival in Los Angeles. The February 22 Panama City-to-Miami voyage is shorter and finishes in Florida, while still including the canal and Caribbean ports. Regent publishes both Panama-focused routes in the inaugural brochure.

The longer January voyage is the better choice for travelers who view the canal as the centerpiece. The February voyage is more practical for someone who wants the experience without spending 15 nights aboard.

Best for enjoying the new ship: a transatlantic

Sea days are not empty days on an inaugural ship. They create time to try multiple dining rooms, revisit favorite spaces and settle into the rhythm of the vessel. The December 13 Barcelona-to-Miami sailing and April 27 New York-to-Barcelona sailing each run 14 nights.

The December itinerary is the ship’s first published voyage and carries the distinction—and uncertainty—of being first. The April crossing has the advantage of several months of operations behind it. It also breaks up the Atlantic with Bermuda, the Azores and Madeira before reaching Málaga, Cartagena, Valencia and Barcelona. Regent’s Gilded Crossing itinerary is especially attractive for travelers who want a new ship without choosing its earliest departure.

Best for destination depth: Barcelona to London

The May 11, 2027 Seven Seas Prestige itinerary travels from Barcelona to London (Southampton), with calls in Spain, Morocco, Portugal and France. Map supplied by Regent Seven Seas Cruises.

The 14-night May 11 sailing combines Barcelona, Málaga, Tangier, Cádiz, Lisbon, Porto, northern Spain, Bordeaux and London, with an overnight call in Bordeaux shown in Regent’s brochure. It offers the strongest destination narrative in the published inaugural program: Mediterranean warmth, the Iberian Peninsula, Atlantic France and a London finish. See Regent’s official itinerary.

This is my pick for travelers who want Prestige to be part of the trip rather than the entire point of the trip. It also creates natural opportunities for pre- and post-cruise stays in Barcelona and London.

What is actually new aboard Seven Seas Prestige?

Prestige is a new class rather than another Explorer-class ship. Regent lists 76,550 gross tons, 411 suites, 822 guests and 630 crew. The ship introduces new dining concepts including Azure and the open-air Solmar Terrace, while retaining Regent signatures such as Compass Rose, Prime 7 and Sette Mari. Regent’s official Prestige materials provide the current ship specifications and venue descriptions.

Those figures suggest a spacious ship, but they do not tell you which suite will feel best. Location, balcony configuration, proximity to elevators, and the tradeoff between midship convenience and forward or aft views all matter. My separate Seven Seas Prestige suites guide explains the categories in more detail.

Should you book the first voyage?

Book the December 13 debut if being among the first guests is itself part of the appeal. Choose a later voyage if you prefer a crew and hotel operation that have had time to establish their routines. New ships can have last-minute venue changes, delayed finishing details or adjusted schedules even when the vessel is delivered on time.

That is not a prediction that Prestige will encounter problems. It is simply the sensible tradeoff of any inaugural sailing: novelty and bragging rights on one side, operational maturity on the other.

The booking details I would compare before you commit

Regent notes that complimentary shore excursions are capacity controlled and booked first come, first served. Its terms also state that the one-night pre-cruise hotel benefit for eligible suites is capacity controlled and unavailable for new bookings made within 90 days of departure. Read Regent’s current brochure terms.

My verdict

The strongest all-around choice is the May 11 Barcelona-to-London sailing. The easiest is a roundtrip Miami itinerary. The April 27 New York-to-Barcelona crossing is the smartest option for travelers who want extensive ship time but would rather not sail on the very first departure.

Prestige’s inaugural season rewards early, careful selection. The difference between a good booking and the right booking may be a specific suite, a more useful fare structure or an itinerary that makes the air logistics considerably easier.
